Thanks! Its well worth it! The rear bumper is actually a little more difficult so if you do both on your rig, start with the front.

Kudos for taking this on as a first/early welding project.

You should probably leave a lot more clearance between the AC line and the winch plate - the body moves something like 3/8" compared to the frame and so you need plenty of clearance there.

Thanks Charlie!! and I thought about that as well, do you think the line will just tweak with the movement, or do you think it could be violent enough to actually kink the line

So you found that the 0.035 wire helped you with welding thicker material?

In a big way to be honest, when I changed to the .035 thats when I started to notice a difference in penetration. I could actually get the steel to glow up red hot at that point.

EDIT: The .030 is perfectly fine for tacking everything together however. Since it comes with the unit, might as well use it lol.

It'll just wear through with time and you'll lose your AC... It might also be possible to just bend the line back out of the way of the winch plate.
