Code 51, Help with AC switch, fuse location

Sorry for the lengthy write up.

I have code 51. on and 3.0 V6, 3VZE engine. It's been on since I have the truck, hasn't been too concerning since it's a trail only truck. But since I have the dash open this week for replacing the heat controls...and I always suspected it to be AC related I figured I try to get to the bottom of it before trail season.

This truck initially had air conditioning, and now it doesn't...it's been removed. So I was thinking that if the ECU is out of a truck that had AC, and now the AC is removed the cabling for the switch behind the dash somewhere is making the ECU think there is a problem with the AC switch circuit. Would you buy that!?, am I selling that angle enough?! :suspicious::tongue1:

Copy paste from 4crawler site. Similar to what I have in repair manual.

Poking around, I found "2" fuse block locations with with the markings AC and Heater. The repair manual shows a 10amp fuse for AC. My truck has one location with a 10amp fuse, and the other has a 20amp fuse even though the fuse block is stamped 10amp?

One of these fuse blocks is behind the heater controls, on the passenger side. The other is behind the heater controls, way down below, maybe a little to the drivers side, it has a cable and connector that is rather long enough to almost reach the rear of the drivers seat. I removed that center arm rest/storage thing with heater to paint the floors, and never put it back, so that could make sense that it is the connector for the rear passenger heater controls.

2 things are odd. Trying to discover which might be the proper connector... you'll notice in the picture that the 1st picture on the passenger side, the writing is right way up. In the second picture, the writing is upside down :suspicious:. Maybe it is actually factory like that....but the previous owner also has the radio power spliced into it...:suspicious: so maybe it's not factory, and the PO just had an extra of thos fuse blocks lying around and used that to fuse his aftermarket radio...writing upside down.

If anyone sticks their head down under there...can you check if the writing is upside down. Told you it was long winded.

Both front and rear heater use 20A fuse and AC uses 10A.
The front fuse/relay is behind the glove box, and the rear fuse/relay is down center by the radio area.
I can't get down under to check mine, but I think they use the same fuse/relay block for both, but don't populate the AC fuse for the rear because it isn't used. Your pic pretty much verifies that.
