Coil packs

I'm not stranger to changing spark plugs (been doing it for 20 years) but the 4R is the first vehicle that I have had with coil packs.

I know the process but I'm wondering if there is anything I need to be careful off when pulling them off the plugs? With old plug wires you run the risk of leaving leaving the connector on the plug and ruining the wire, so I always have spare wires or a recrimping tool standing by.

Is there a possibility of anything like that happening with the coil packs?

It's as easy as it looks... :bigok: I always put a touch of di-electric grease on the plug insulator (as always). It's super easy to strip the bolts... The spec is like 5-ft/lbs. The plugs are 13-15ft/lbs. The heads are aluminum. If you've done a bunch of plugs it's piece of cake.

Thanks. I always use di-electric grease as well to make removal easier the next time. Only these have been on for 5 years so I wanted to know if there was the potential of trouble.

I've done many with this setup at 5yrs and 100k (+ or -) and never had an isssue...

I'm at 5 years and almost 93k and it still feels like a new vehicle.
