Don't do it. Its a waste of money. I ran one on mine (K&N) for over a year. Started reading that they were useless and decided to take it off and go back stock to see the difference. I would have bet a million bucks the K&N would be better.......... and LOST!!!!! I immediately noticed that my truck ran a lot better stock. Better fuel mileage, too. Do a search and you'll find everything I did that convinced me its a joke.

Then decide. If you want to be deafened, a CAI will help. If you want to be deafened, the ISR (Intake Silencer Removal) mod will help. If you want performance, this won't help you (and seriously, you probably won't feel under about 10hp regardless).
I have a K&N and it cost over $200. I didn't get it for performance, and I would probably sell it or get rid of it since it's so loud, but the stock filter system wasn't keeping out all the dust from the dirt roads I live on. That is literally the only reason I would recommend a different intake, or a snorkel because you do that deep of water. But to each their own, it is nice to say "I have an aftermarket K&N intake" and they look cool and stop the dirt from being sucked in, so they are not a waste of money but they are very situational so to speak. well I went with the AirRaid Intake and Filter and couldn't be happier.
Its not "cold air" intake just basically a pre-made ISR mod
Don't know if it gives any more HP but "feels" like it does which technically is all that matters. It is slightly louder mostly because I leave my deck plate open now, it definitely breathes better than the old thin K&N that came with the truck and no more oiling.
Also between the intake and the new muffler I get between 1-2mpg better gas mileage on highway.
It has almost already paid for itself in fuel savings.
I got mine for $159 shipped to the door and for me was well worth it.
But not much reason to bring IN more air if it doesn't go OUT just as fast so need a better muffler that breathes better to go along with it.
