Collar on rear axle

The last collar on my axle is pressed all the way to the bearing and now I have a leak. How far should that last ring be from the bearing so that it sits in the inner axle seal?

ya should measured before, but i couldn't tell ya. Call a service department.
By the way, did you install the inner and outer axle seal?

Well I didn't measure it because someone one else did the machine work and told me they were familar with Toyota axles. I replaced the bearing, inner and outter seals, ABS ring, and both collars. I would post the question on Yotatech but I am banned LOL. I searched overthere and just found an appx measurement and would like to know exactly. I'll try calling Toyota too.

If its your inner seal thats leaking, it presses all the way against the back. You might check to see if it's crooked or maybe backwards. the dealer might be the best. the guys at the universal parts dept are really helpful. They'll pull up the alldata diagram and print it out for ya too.

I tried replacing the inner seal again but I read on Yotatech that the collar should not be oressed all the way down like mine is. When it is like that, it wont sit in the inner seal but sits in front of it instead letting fluid leak onto the brakes. red Mc Combs gave me a print out once but I lost it or threw it away.

I asked a question regarding someones post about wiring and was told by a moderator that the person I was questioning was a 4Runner genious and should show respect by not questioning him. I asked the moderator why he was bashing me for asking in a forum where you ask questions to get answers and the mod banned me.
