Color Confusion

So I'm in serious need of some opinions on what color to get in the 2011 4runner. I was in love with the blizzard pearl initially, but now am also considering the magnetic gray. I am a female looking for something classy as well as outdoorsy/rugged. I've seen a ton of BPs around my town, which is causing me to consider the MG even moreso. I want something different and awesome! Opinions please!!

Hard to say - you can't go wrong with either color. If BP's are the main color in your town, and you want unique...then MG may be the way to go. I have the MG and love it. Either way, you're getting one darn good truck.

The rarest is the Salsa Red Pearl by far with the Shoreline Blue Pearl next. They are both unbelievably beautiful in person. I just saw my first red one last month and was quite impressed.

The BP is great too but there are alot of them. I'd say at least half the new Runners I see on the road are BP!

It is definitely personal preference, how unique you want to be, how much maintenance you want to spend on appearance and what is in your area. I can honestly say that I can count on one hand, ALL 5th gens I have seen on the road around here during the past 9 months!!!! I actually get excited when I see another on the road :boink: white or silver will require a little less up-keep. If I were to do it again, I would go with the magnetic grey just for the versatility (looks great stock, with mods, lifted etc.) IMO the blizzard pearl looks the best with the factory chrome (which I am not a huge fan of but compliments the white). I love the blacked out look on all of the other colors and it is fairly easy if you follow advice from others on this board but just dont think it will look right on the BP...

I love my BP! I considered the MG but it didnt have the options I needed. However I have no regrets. I think its the "classiest looking" however thats not the look I'm going for, more of a storm tropper status for me.

I'm a little jealous of the mag gray trail. I tell myself it won't look so cool in 120F Mojave Summers

I've got one of the only shoreline blue ones in my region in TN. In the past year and a half i've only seen one other one locally, and the dealership in east TN got a SB in while my husband was there during christmas. I think the blue is sexy, classy, and an eye turner!

While I prefer the Mag Gray myself, the Black should age very well with you. In other words it's an ageless color - no matter the driver's age it will always looks good! :trophy:

You ARE gonna keep it for a while, aren't you? :wow2:

In the last 15 months I have seen 1 BP, 1 Salsa Red (which I really liked), a few Mag Grey, and a TON of black ones.

I would love to see a Salsa Red - Black on Black interior (LE), but with the SR5 rims, now that would be nice!

Win!

Maintenance on a Shoreline Blue is a piece of cake, and the color is dynamic as hell. Dark one minute, light the next. Absolutely love the color.

I think every color of the 4R is great. I nearly bought a Pilot, but every color they had was really nondescript.

I really like my BP, but if you want unique the SR or SB is da bomb. You may have difficulty getting the options you want tho.

I'd say a SR Tr. Ed. would be truly stand-out.

I agree. I have only seen one SR in person and that was last year. I'm looking but having little luck finding one here in SE Missouri.:hiding: The most popular are Black and BP here with Mag Grey in at a close 3rd.

another factor to consider is seat color options. I had trouble finding the BP that I wanted, so I considered the mag gray. The mag gray is only available with dark seats. I live in Houston and really didn't want dark seats in the Houston summers, so I opted not to get the gray.

I know exactly what you are going through. I just went through it myself. I loved the salsa red and the shoreline blue in person and wanted it when I purchased mine. However, the Salsa Red the dealer had in stock was with the black/gray interior which I don't like as much as the sand biege leather. Had it been the solid black LE interior, I would have been sold. And to get the blue had to be a limited, which was out of my price range. So, I went with black with biege leather.

As has been said on here, black is a classic color as is silver and the blizzard pearl. Those colors have and always will be around. Although I loved the salsa red, I was afraid that after a few years I may get tired of it, unlike the black. The silver is also a very nice color in person.

Above all else, is it worth being unique to go with a color that initially didn't grab your attention. If the BP did so, then it may be worth going that route. You can always customize with wheels/etc to make it unique if that is a concern.

When I suggested the SR, it was to offer you something unique. On second thought, one should listen to one's first impressions. The more I think about things, the less sure I become. I was knocked out by the BP right away. Who the he!! cares if there are others in town?
