Color-keyed grill? Spoiler?

Hi folks


I have a new 2007 4Runner. I'm not that crazy about the chrome grille. I also want a nice Bull Bar in front, and the chrome is too much (still want to match). I want a color keyed grille. Apparently the limited models come with them, so they are available. Where can I get one? Must I go to Toyota and pay high $ or does anyone have tips on where to get one from a 3rd party vendor? In addition, I am thinking about buying the spoiler as well. I don't care much, but my wife prefers the Runner with the spoiler. How hard it it to install?

Thanks for any tips. Need to do these body adjustments before I really get to customize my truck. After that, the real fun starts.

The spoiler is really easy to install. It's just a few bolts. You can get it here for under $300 or check one of T4R's sponsors.

As for the silver grill, this is what comes with the V6, the V8 is color-keyed. I think the color-keyed makes it look more like a crossover, instead of a SUV. My $0.02

I get your point on the grille, but the thing I'm worried about is too much chrome. A black Bull bar with chrome grille seems a bit patchwork, and chrome bar with chrome grille seems like too much chrome. Anyone with pictures of either combination to look at?

If it looks ok, I will stick with the chrome and save some money. I just don't want it too shiny. Oh my, the perils of customizing..... I used to be able to stay happy with stock trucks. This 4Runner has really just got me obsessed. I love it too much.

BTW, "The rear spoiler mounts with four bolts, and drilling is required. Wiring is simply a positive and negative wire tap or wire splice -very easy."

I thought the Limiteds were the only '06 & up 4Runners to have a color-keyed grille? I don't think the engine matters...

whether it's V6 or V8 doesn't matter -- it's the Limiteds that have the color-keyed grille

you can get a color-keyed grille from your dealer. I got mine for about $150. Do a search on this board, and you'll find a thread that has a link to a website that sells them for about $110 or so...
