I live in the East and was just out west staying in Breckenridge (Ski trip) and have never seen so many 4runners!! Mostly 3rd Gens and all looked to be in great shape. My wife and I probably pointed out 10/day... I think I may need to move out there and take my 4runner back to its home! LOL

I usually see 20+ 4Runner's driving to or from work every day. Usually its at least 1 of every gen too.

I bought mine in CO. They stay in better condition there because no humidity or salt on the roads. But you will pay more for a 4runner in CO too

Although I am starting to lust for a new Trail Edition equipped 5th gen....now if only they would revive the manny tranny!

If you shop around, you can probably find a good deal. I bought my '96 about 2 years ago here in CO with a 5spd, factory locker, and very clean with 111,000 miles on it for $5000.
BTW, I love living here in Colorado. Great state, and beautiful mountains. I moved here about 10 years ago from Alaska, and although Alaska is (imo and probably a bit bias) still the most beautiful state Colorado is definitely ranked up there next to Alaska.

Here's my family: I have a '99 4runner. Previous vehicle was an '04 Taco 4wd.
Brother has an '02 Subaru Impreza TS hatchback and an '11 Outback Wagon.
Mom has an '03 Impreza TS wagon (just totaled, sadly.)
The vehicle I owned before the Taco was a '99 Outback Wagon.
On my block (fairly blue-collar older suburb of Englewood) it breaks down like this:
We've got our 4runner (and my wife's Grand Vitara.) Next door neighbor has a 4wd Taco. Neighbor 2 doors down has a 2nd gen 4runner. Neighbor next the them has a 4wd Taco. Neighbors across the street own two Hondas, but their kids often visit - 1 4runner and 1 4 door Taco. Neighbors next to them (caddycorder from us) have an older Toyota 4x4 pickup and a Subaru Impreza. Neighbors caddycorner on the other side have an Outback wagon.
So Yeah, 4wd Toyotas and AWD Subarus are pretty much everywhere out here.

On my street alone there are 3 3rd Gen runners. Two more that park on the street one block away. It's more of a challenge to avoid them than to see them.
And yes, Colorado knows what's up! 65 degrees in Denver. Hour and a half away you have amazing boarding, great hiking trails, camping, fishing, rafting, you name it we got it. Where else can you ski one day and golf the next? Oh yeah, don't forget about the beer.

The same goes for the Bay Area. I see about 15-20 3rd gens just driving to and from work. not many are lifted though.

Yep, all of California is loaded with 4runners. I see 20+ a day driving to/from work/school.
When I went to Texas, I don't even think I saw one 4runner or Tacoma. I was baffled!
