Colorado Duratrac owners...

did you get to test out your tires in the new Colorado snow? If so, what are your impressions? Good purchase?

FWIW, I have 26" total snow here at my house. Drove around yesterday with 15"+ on my road and had no problems moving / getting out (it's all uphill as well). My T4R is stock height with Discount Tire Roadhugger XRT M+S tires. This setup did phenomenally well in deep snow as well as packed snow on the road.

I have duratracs on my 3rd gen in Denver. I was quite impressed yesterday, I tried to make them slip a few times going around corners and they held on for quite a while. Also, they seem to do very well going from a plowed section into a patch of snow, I really couldn't feel a difference. MUCH better than the tires I had last year, those where just frightening.

Maybe you can have one of the mods move it. I know RonMaiden lives here in Littleton and has a 3rd gen with DuraTracs.

FWIW, my Revo's have been kick'n but in this snow! I think the 4R is such a capable 4wd, that even with my stock Dunlops I could get just about anywhere safely and reliably, despite the all the doom and gloom you hear re the Dunlops. I'm still looking for another excuse to go somewhere. I think that will happen soon! :dancin:

Evergreen huh? I grew up in conifer. I'm guessing my parents house got about the same as you guys got. Around 2'. I know Conifer high school didnt have school today. I'd imagine evergeen high school didnt either.

As for the tires... nothing to report.

As far as snow traction and control the Duratracs are impressing me and they have very solid turn in bite and the rear stays in line even when I force the rear to kick out the tires grab right back. I am very happy with these tires and worth the $800 I spent on them. My Nittos were very good in the snow also but the Duratracs do inspire more confidence at hwy speeds and driving in last night's raging storm I was able to scoot along at 55mph on an empty C470 with nary a slip.
I also had good take off grip even plowing through the 20"+ in the parking lots around here.

Thanks for the report! That's good to hear. I was actually suprised that my RoadHugger M+S tires got up my road with 15 or so inches yesterday afternoon. That snow was unplowed/untouched and the T4R handled it like a champ.... uphill too! I talked my Xterra buddy into getting the Duratracs and he is very impressed too... he'd been using stock tread for the longest time and was surprised that he actually wasn't sliding / slipping with the Duratracs

I don't have the DuraTracs but I have Goodyear Silent Armors and they were pretty sweet in the snow last week. I tried breaking the tires loose many times and aside from the ridiculous they worked great. These are the first tires I've owned with the snowflake, I'm looking forward to testing them further this winter....
