I'm definitely game for a second round of Chinaman's on Saturday. I thought Iron Chest looked pretty interesting for Friday. It seems like that one could be run pretty quickly and leave the afternoon open for a second run on something mellow like Mt. Antero/Princeton.

That sounds like a plan. Iron Chest is a fun trail, the beginning is technical and the rest is your typical high mountain Colorado trail, theres also some old mining structures up at the top and there's a ton of other trails in the area. I will plan on heading down to camp Thursday night, that way I'm all ready to go Friday morning.

I like the sounds of this. Chinaman's is one I've been looking to do, and this is the perfect time to cross it off the list. Friday I haven't decided if I will make the early drive over, but if I do, Iron Chest also seems like a great trail from what I've read on TrailDamage.

So what trails are people planning on running Friday and Saturday? I think I will be running Chinaman's on Saturday, but I'm still undecided on Friday. The last couple years I have run Wheeler Lake but I wouldn't mind a change of scenery. Holy Cross is one of my favorite trails, but I usually prefer to run it in smaller groups.

I'm not stuck on Holy Cross, and would love to run Chinaman's with you if that ride happens. I'm up for whatever on Friday, I just don't have skid plates or bumpers so I don't want to run anything too extreme.

I'm 100% committed to going (still need to register though). Probably won't be there until Friday evening, but I'm going to see if I can wiggle my way out of work that Friday. My truck isn't ready for Holy Cross or Iron Chest (both sound like issues for a skid-less, slider-less 3rd gen), so if I make it for wheeling Friday I'll either run another trail or ride along with someone. I wouldn't mind taking photos all day.

Sunday I may run a trail, or find a spot to go fish...

Question. Could a stock TRD Pro do holy cross with out high risk of damage? I understand driving experience is big part. Are there bypasses for hard sections?

I've seen rigs on 33's and a rear locker make it over French Creek but it's not pretty. They have to BEAT ON THEM to get across the creek. There isn't a bypass for French Creek unfortunately.

There will be a group of us that shows up Thursday night to camp. I don't think anyone is running trails on Thursday.

My plan it to leave early Thursday morning to get the property ready to go. Then go run something. I want to check out conditions on Carnage at the waterfall to see what a cluster-F... its going to be on Saturday. I am hoping for a week or two of dry weather up there to dry out the base and Vnotch. Otherwise, even the buggies will be winching these two sections.

But, I may just say screw it and load up for Grizzly to go fishing. We'll see how it goes.

We are coming and and I really want to do Chinamans, so count me in for Saturday. As of now we are planning to arrive Thursday night likely around 10:00pm. If we do I'm down for whatever Friday morning.

There is room to park at the trailhead and the hardest section is right at the beginning, it changes year to year so you could walk it and decide Friday morning. I doubt it will be an all day trip, so we'll probably run an easier trail afterwards.

No, just jealous of the crawl box and I know you won't have to use your brakes. Last buddy w/ one I followed down moab rim killed me. All in good fun, just a little green., mad respect.

Personally I'm glad he'll have all those extra levers at his disposal. That way I have an excuse when I can't keep up.
