Colorado trip

Making a trip out to Colorado, August next year with a few other 4runners. We were wondering where are the top trails that we need to hit around the Denver area. We will be up there for at least a week. We will be camping 95% of the time also so great camping areas will be needed. We are planing on going to the Addicted Offroad meet then do another 3-5 days of wheeling. I wanna do Black Bear Pass, (dont know if thats close to Denver but its on my list).

Ouray is a 5-6 hour drive from Denver but worth the drive. Run Black Bear then Imogene for a great day. You could spend all your time just running trails in the Ouray area.

Black Bear is in the Telluride area, not really close to Denver at all. Don't know anything about the Denver area so I can't help much.

Ouray, Sliverton, Telluride area is awesome. It is about 5-6 hours from Denver. Check out TrailDamage.com Lots and lots of great info on that site. Just about every trail in Colorado is on there and they update with the conditions and difficutly level when the group runs the trails.

I just got back from wheeling a couple trails west of the Denver area. We ran Wheeler Lake and Holy Cross. Rear locker stayed on the whole time on both trails.

Wheeler Lake is a moderate trail with some awesome scenery, and Holy Cross is a good bit harder but has some even better views. I here Webster/Red Cone pass is a good mild trail with some great views as well.

Wheeler lake is definitely a fun trail. The easier lines can be done without a locker, didn't really push it though as it was a rainy day. Don't have any real action pics :/
