I have been lurking around the boards for the better part of a year or so and have been dreaming of finally one day getting my hands on a nice/clean used T4R. Well this past August I finally picked up a 2007 SE with 71k.
I appreciate what nice setup you have here with the resource. I do however have a few preliminary questions that I thought you might be able to shed some light on. Thanks in advance for this.
1. Where can I directly go to have a report of the specific past work on this vehicle pulled up? I know the carfax I viewed stated the the oringal dealer performed the scheduled maintenance on time.
2. Is there anyone local that might be able to point me in the area of someone who is legit and honest so I can avoid the stealership as much as possible? I would prefer not to be grabbing my ankles on each visit to those hell holes.
3. If not does anyone here locally on the boards know of anyone at the stealership that isn't a ****/thief to deal with? Again I'd give them a shot if I knew they were honest and not out to always sell me something I didn't need.
4. I don't really have the setup at my condo or allowed by the association rules to jack my 4R up and do my own maintenance unless i drove back home to my father's about 2 hours away so if possible something local. Besides the neighbors are Nazi's about doing any type of car work in the lot. I thought maybe about finding a local lot where there was none/minimal traffic to maybe do basic oil changes etc.
5. Any basic info to help me out is much appreciated. I'm still contemplating going over to Mobil 1 syn and maybe save up for jacking up the suspension next year with some bigger tires. Other than that I plan on keeping it pretty much stock besides maybe a front cage etc. I doubt I'll be doing any major trails, but with the limited trails in Ohio there could be some minor off roading in the plans.
