Seriously...what the hell is wrong with these people? Are they people or cattle? Nothing against Hindus in general but damn...this just makes no sense to me. According to other reports i've read, this is a common occurence during Hindu pilgramages??

NEW DELHI, India (CNN) -- A stampede of religious pilgrims, packed along a narrow road leading to a Hindu shrine, killed at least 215 people in western India Tuesday afternoon, Indian officials said.
The chaos started when a few impatient devotees started to push through the crowd of 200,000 Hindu worshippers who were making their way uphill to the Mandhara Devi shrine on a holy day, witnesses said.
As dozens of people were crushed, others became angry and set fire to shops along the road, witnesses said.
Fires spread along the route, causing gas cylinders used to cook food for the pilgrims to explode in the main square of the temple complex, they said.
At last count, at least 215 people were dead and officials feared the death toll would grow.
"Most of those who died were women and small children," said Police Officer P. Sabale.
The rescue effort was slowed by the large crowd and the unpaved roads, officials said. It took several hours for the first help to reach the scene, they said.
The shrine to the Hindu goddess is on a hill above the town of Wai, about 150 miles southeast of Mumbai.
Tuesday was a particularly busy day at the shrine because of the full moon, police said.
