HP on the Jeep is 235. Torque is 305 lb-feet. They are very nice, each having their own specific high points. The Jeep has a more car like ride. I recently drove it to Louisville (about 75 miles each way), and was driving about 80 mph and was very quiet and car like in driving characteristics.
The 4runner is very quiet too, probably more so in my opinion. However, it sits up higher and has a much more masculine and truck like feel to it. I love the Satellite/MP3/bluetooth combo of the stereo system. This is a really, really nice feature. It should be included from a brand like Toyota. Daimler Chrysler has really, really spiced up the Jeep product. As you can see in the pics, my parents have an 04 Jeep GC. Some really, really big ride characteristics between the two. Also, the insides are very, very different. The 05 has a nice interior. Leather quality is great.
However, the 4runner has a much nicer overall feel with the door panels, dash, and overall layout. One other feature that the toyota should have had was power adjustable pedals.....Pic 8 shows the power adjustable pedal lever directly about the gear selector.
