Compatibility between FJ & 4R parts

Sorry if this has been covered repeatedly...

I get the impression that many parts made for the FJ (not sure which years) will also fit the 5th gen 4R. I've seen snippets in a variety of threads saying they basically have the same frame, suspension, etc.

Has anyone developed some sort of "master list" of parts that might be compatible with both trucks? I ask because there seems to be a lot more available for the FJ than the 4R and it would be nice to know what will/won't fit if you order FJ parts.

I'd be happy to accumulate & organize this type of information if those in the know would chip in - might make a good sticky for people searching for after market 4R parts & not finding them

I'd like to know too, specifically the coil springs; 4th gen or FJ compatible with 5th gen? net higher or lower ride height? how do spring rates compare?

Icon Coilover shocks:

I spoke with Icon a few weeks ago about Tacoma/FJ/5th Gen 4-Runner compatibility and they said that they will all work but the FJ valving is stiffer and the Tacoma valving would be a better match for our trucks.

Note:

Fox, King, Icon, Radflo etc all make 8" travel shocks for the Tacoma/FJ/4 Runners but they all valve them differently and use different rate coils. I know that Icon and Radflo spent the time valving their coil overs for a 5th Gen application. If you go Fox or King make sure that you spend some time getting them valved for your truck. Otherwise you can have a $1300 shock that rides like a $50 shock. Proper shock set-up is key.

Just sharing the knowledge from what I have about parts compatibility.

Call Icon and ask them directly. Im sure that they have interchanged multiple springs form different years for compatibility.
