Compenant/Coaxial Speakers

Can someone explain the main difference here?

My 4runner has a tweeter on the top of the door. But I just bought new coaxial speakers for my front, havne't installed them yet. But I can put them back on ebay/return them.

What I'm curious about is, if the front speakers are made for component speakers.

I was in a rush to buy these speakers because they were very cheap on ebay and way below any price on a normal site.

Also, whats a crossover thing?

Thanks

You have components up front. Components are the combination of coaxial and tweeter speakers. They may be able to work, but I'm not sure on that. Depends on the headunit, and depends if you reuse the current crossovers. It's really just best to by the component set.

A crossover will divide the frequencies between the coaxial and tweeter.

Great! Thanks. I was a little bit too much in a rush to spend money without researching too much.

Good thing they wer eonly $40 and I can return them or just put them back on ebay!

What I think I'm going to do, is get my new head unit installed Saturday. Save up a little bit, and then go buy new component speakers for my front. And some cheaper coaxial ones for the back.

Thanks again.
