Complete front suspension rebuild?

My 07 Limited 4x4 with 100k miles needs a new driver CV shaft, and this is now making me wonder if I should just replace everything while I have it apart. Would I be ok just swapping the CV shaft and calling it good? Or are the front end components usually ready to be replaced with this many miles?

Don't replace anything that's not giving you trouble. Nothing on the front end is particularly hard to get to. If you need to replace something down the road you won't be kicking yourself for not doing it now.

The only exception that comes to mind is the output shaft seal. It's always good practice to replace that one when you do a CV shaft.

CV shafts are relatively easy to replace. Make sure you replace the seals while you're in there. You can get new CV shafts for about 70 from rock auto. Some members have had problems with after market CV's on their lifted runners so the best route would be just to reboot the OEM one but it is a little more work. If you don't plan on lifting it I would just get new ones from rock auto and switch them out.

I would replace the inner and outer tie rods if they have never been done.

Thanks guys. I picked up a Cardone shaft from Napa, should be good enough for now. Toyota wanted $500 for a shaft. I couldn't believe it. I'd be willing to pay $250 for an OE shaft but $500 is absolutely outrageous. Thanks for the tip on the tie rods.
