Compressor fed brake bleeder

Came across GSGALLANT's writeup on yotatech about his one man brake bleeder.

I used slightly different parts (mainly b/c I didn't see the need for multiple reducers. Aside from cranking on my ever tight brake bleeding nuts, this process was FAST, like under 15 minutes if you know what you're doing, 45 for me since it was a first time and I didn't jack up the car or remove wheels, so space was tight.

From left to right (compressor to brake reservoir):
1/4" male quick disconnect
3/4" to 1/4" bell reducer coupling
3/4" nipple (2")
3/4" street 90 elbow
3/4" to 1 1/4" bushing
1 1/4" to 1 1/2" flexible pipe coupling.

Thread seal and put it together!

I used the pipe clamps to secure it onto the reservoir, maybe not needed IDK. I pressurized the system to 15 psi since that's about what most self bleeders do.

And for the grand old cost of.... $20!

Thanks!!!! I need to make one of these. Did you do this without removing the wheels?
 
I did. It's high enough that I can slip under on a creeper. I will say though that it WILL be easier without wheels. Because that way you can access the bleeder nut from above whereas I had to go from under and it was a PITA
 
Forgive me, but I wouldn't do this. Air compressors, lines, etc tend to accumulate moisture over time. As I'm sure everyone knows, brake fluid and water is a terrible combination.

I agree if you are using shop air & the coalesor and tank are not drained consistently . I made a similar 1 man bleeder set up using PVC and my 3 gal air compressor. I always open the drain before I store the compressor so I don't get moisture accumulation. But I fully understand where are coming from I deal with heavy industry and see more often than not moisture in the lines and poorly maintained traps
 
You are absolutely right, it does depend on the setup, maintenance, age of equipment, etc.
