have an 04 sport with xreas.. Found a small leak so I am about to purchase 4x4 shocks and springs (fj)..

When i switch these out will that mean removing the xreas??? just not 100% up on the system even after reading about it

Yes, when you replace the shocks and springs you will be removing the XREAS system and the coil springs. Be very careful when removingthe XREAS to not disconnect the lines at the shocks themselves but at the canisters on the frame rail on the middle of the vehicle.

There are disconnect points about a foot down the XREAS line from the shocks, you don't have to go all the way to the canister. Only benefit is that if you ever decide to go back to XREAS, you *might* be able to reuse the lines.

As said, you will loose XREAS. XREAS refers to the shocks themselves, so if you replace shocks, you loose it. You can swap coils and keep the XREAS, not that it applies to you if your shocks are leaking.

Perfect.. So I am going to go ahead and purchase the fj 4x4 shocks and springs to replace when needed..

As always appreciate the help!!!

No. XREAS is entirely mechanical and as far as I know, there is no computer component.

Any code that pops after a switch would probably be the VSC needing 0 point calibration.
