Connecting AUX input on SCION HU T1807

I know this has been talked about many times over but I was unable to find any useful information using the 'Search'.

I have a SCION HU T1807 and wanted to connect an MP3 player to the AUX input on the back of the radio. I understand there are convertors/interface modules on the market designed for this but I'm not all for spending $50+. Has anyone out there figured out a way to fabricate their own interface plug that goes in the back of the HU? I'm looking for what type of connector's required, wiring diagram, and any other info you can share. Thanks all

I've been trying to figure this out for more than a year. Apparently, we're the only two people not obsessed with ipods.

If you poke around the scion forums there's a wiring diagram out there somewhere. I lost the link when my last laptop died.

As you have doubtlessly figured out, the wiring for the aux plug isn't available as a separate part, as least as near as I can tell. The complicating factor in wiring a plug is that there are 4 wires: Left, Right, Ground and some kind of sensor that tells the HU that something's plugged in. Good luck and if you figure some thing out, post it here.
