I'm new to the forums and considering purchasing a 2004 4Runner 4x4. I'm primarily buying this vehicle so I can go snowboarding every weekend, regardless of the weather, and bring 3 friends with me if needed. I'll miss the gas mileage of my Honda Civic, given the current gas price spikes, but it's a small price to pay for the ability to drive through nearly anything to get to the best powder in the country.
Is it feasible, given the current declining market for high gas consumption vehicles, to get a 4Runner for UNDER invoice? I've spoken with a couple people who have gotten them near $2000 under, and had a dealer offer me $1000 over without even bargaining. Also, how do you all like your 4Runners? Sounds like they are VERY dependable and also hold value extremely well. It's a no brainer over the Pathfinder, in my opinion.
