Considering an 06' sport

I am new to the forum. My wife owns a Sequoia and I am considering a 06 sport edition 4runner. I will be test driving over thanksgiving. Questions for you guys... Is it pretty quite inside like most toyota's? Does the width of the vehicle bother you.. from the outside it looks like a narrow Tacoma with a cover over the bed? Lastly, is the V6 adequate if I never pull a trailer? Thanks!!

It is fairly quiet inside, but not as quiet as my wife's Lexus RX300. I think it would be comparable to the Sequoia though, but I have never driven one of them. I am 6', 250lbs, and wear a 52 jacket, so am fairly broad, and I have plenty of room width wise. Height wise is a little closer than I would like. I have about 1/2 inch clearance.

If you do a search on towing, you will find plenty of v6 owners who have no problem, but you have to watch your weights.

The 2006 4Runner is much quieter than the 2003-2005 4Runner. I drove a 2006 and thickened front glass and windshield made a big difference. I would have to say that the 4Runner is very quiet for a truck.

The V6 should be perfect for you. You really can't go wrong with both engines.

I decided on a new o4 but was thinking about a LR Discovery or a used Yota LC. I liked the 4 runner much better than the others. the Rover dealer was in 45 miles to Orland and I had picked up on some relyability issures with the Disco. I could not be more happy with my choice of ride and motor (V6). Others have posted about towing - just look about or do a search. If you haul the V8 my be for you - lower gearing and special hitch.

Good luck.
