Considering FJ Cruiser

I'm considering FJ Cruiser Team Edition just because 2014 is the last production for this vehicle.

Members coming from FJ, shall I consider moving from 4Runner to FJ? My main motivation is that FJ will be good to keep as "collectors item" :).

Thanks for your input.

It's not a collector's item. Its value is only what you think it's worth to you.

The made a shit ton of those things and they're not that great.

I should know, I had one.

They didn't make many of the 2014 Ultimate TT's. I should know, I wanted one but procrastinated when they had one on my Toyo dealer's lot. It sold fast and was impossible to get another.

I'd get the FJ !!!
I had a 2009 FJ with an off-road package and LOVED it, loved it, loved it. Favorite driver I've ever owned. Liked it so much that it was hard for me to get rid of it when the time came.
The ONLY reason I have a 4Runner now and not an FJ is kids. The 4Runner works much better with car seats and kids gear than the FJ.

The FJ was a great idea with horrible execution, the FJ vs. 4Runner debate has been covered quite a few times within the last 6 or so months on here, the summary is basically always, if you like it enough to get over the long list of drawbacks, go for it.

I have an 06 4runner and an 07 FJ, wife drives the FJ.

FJ Pros over 4Runner in my opinion:
-manual t-case
-rear locker
-headroom
-I like the seats better

Cons:
-rear seat access
-broken windshield repair
-?

They are great trucks, obviously share a lot with the 4runner. I don't have any real complaints about ours.

so had you gotten a trail or TRDP model your only complaint would possibly be the seats?

I wanted an FJ, but my wife wouldn't go for it cause my ex drives one. So I got the 4runner. I love my runner, but every time I see a lifted FJ I drool a little bit lol.

Do you value being able to see cars beside you or behind you while driving? If so, then an FJ isn't for you. I drive an 08 fj everyday, I have 2 little ones and I only ever put one in the back.

I wanted one in the worst way but didnt want to spend 20g on one. I opted for a 3rd gen and still wish i had an FJ. I love the look of them and with a lift, tires, bumpers etc they look bad ass.

I have both, and both are heavily modified (particularly the FJ). For off-roading I like the FJ much better. For a daily driver I like the 4-Runner better. If I had to choose one.........well, I don't have to choose so I won't speculate. As someone previously pointed out, I'm on my 3rd windshield on the FJ, so if you get one make sure your insurance has a zero or nominal deductible for windshield replacement. The vertical orientation is a rock magnet.
