Hello!

I was wondering if you could help me. I am considering purchasing a used '99 T4R Limited. There are quite a few km on this vehicle, around 210,000 (about 131,000 miles). What are some questions I should ask based on the age and wear of this vehicle? Are there common problems at say 220k? 230? When I do a physical inspection, are there any things to keep an eye out for? Thanks for any help!

timing belt at least once

Timing belt should have been done at 90K miles -water pump normally is done at same time.

Rear axle seals are a problem with these vehicles-likely both rears would have failed by now, but if not they are due to fail soon. Be sure replacement part for new seal ends with a digit 6.

210k is nothing for these truck. Mine's at 230 and runs great. I had a just by a tranny of me today with 300,000kms on his 99 and still going strong. Ask for whatever records they have. Timing should have been done at 120 and should have been done again recently or is due soon. Not everyone goes by the recommend interval. I know mine was last done at 168 or something. Rear axel seals do fail. Mine haven't yet and hopefully won't anytime soon. Good luck.
