Considering trade for 03 Sequoia? Need Advice!

I have a V8 2WD 2005 4Runner with ~69,000.00 miles. Considering a trade to the local dealership for a 2003 V8 2WD Sequoia:

toyota of santa barbara

Currently I don't do much off roading at all. Mostly designated driver with a few off-highway drives to the local shooting range but I definitely don't want to be stranded anywhere. We go to Big Bear yearly in March, will the 2WD Sequoia do as well as the 2WD 4Runner?

I plan to test drive tomorrow, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

4Runner vs. Sequoia I know is an apples vs. oranges type of comparison but I am looking for any and all types of opinions/advice!

Do you need that extra interior size for passengers or cargo?

Another thing I'd think about is that if you got the 4Runner new, I'd rather have the 2005 that I owned since it was new than an older car someone else had.

here in Ohio winter snowy roads can be crap sometimes and it is nice having 4wd, but I really only use it maybe 3 weeks out of the year. Its the only reason I spend the extra cash on a 4wd vs. a 2wd. If I lived out west I would save the extra money and go with a 2wd.
I would also be happier - Ohio is depressing in the winter time!
BTW, nice looking Sequoia!

I am not the original owner of my 4Runner. Have owned it since about 43,000miles and October 08.

As a side note there seems to be nearly no sequoia forum. Found Toyotanation.com but their sight is not fun to navigate.

It has nice aesthetics, and is sure to be reliable--it's a Toyota. To me it has the boxy looks I like from the 4Runner and is bigger.

The Sequoia is significantly larger than the 4Runner and drinks a lot more gas. Since it is a Toyota, you can't go wrong. It all comes down to what your needs are. Just curious, why are you considering trading the 4Runner?

I have wanted more cargo/seating space for a while now, not that there's any real need for it.
At this point the trade in value is more than what I owe on my 4runner and it seems like I can probably get the Sequoia and keep my monthly costs the same.

However, I went to the dealership this morning and glanced it over and didn't fall in love with the Sequoia so I consider that itch scratched. For now

What is it about 4Runners that other cars don't have that makes it love at first sight?

i had a 2003 tundra wich is essentially the same vehicle, and i loved it. i had 240,000 miles on it and never had a problem. it isnt bad for offroad, except for mud. that thing would get stuck so often it wasnt funny. they are great vehicles with great motors though. you should be fine as long as you are staying out of the swampy stuff

i don't like the interior of sequia, kept me from buyin one,other than that, it's a Toyota, you can't go wrong
