How dare you. Toyota uses only the finest hand-tanned wildebeest calf leather in the 4runner.

God I wish :(

Side note: the entire "leather" interior is plastic in the 4Runner isn't it? I've always assumed it was, does anyone truly know?

If you look at the link I posted they have two sets of prices - console with leather and without.

What would the cost of a new console top from a salvage yard be? There are those leather repair kits that are advertised on TV. The ones where you spread on some stuff and cover with a film. Then pull the film off for a seemless repair that is color matched. Don't know how well they work though.

Have you consider visiting your local upholstery shop and seeing if they can re-warp it in leather and if so how much?

This is what I'm wanting to know...how well it works. Upholstery shop would probably be high.
