I installed my RSG Metalworks (flat w/ kickout and full tread plate) sliders over the weekend. I went with RSG based on other positive feedback here, their fast turnaround, and their very reasonable price. Admittedly, their primary use, in the near term, will be a step, since I have two children. As an engineer, I err toward the 'overbuilt is underrated' mantra. Down the road, when I'm not as anal about keeping my new rig pristine, I'm sure I'll use the sliders as intended.

I ordered them bare metal, since I wanted to paint them myself. I thoroughly degreased and sanded them, laid down a few coats of POR-15, and then Herculiner on top. I only used Herculiner on the visible areas; the underside is still POR-15 for easy touch ups.

RSG Sliders

I installed a set of RSG Sliders on my 4ruuner last Saturday. Very beefy, fast shipping and overall good quality. Mine had a bad spot in the powder coating and a small dent in the outer tube on the kick out. I can live with it, but didn't expect to receive anything less than perfect from all the positive comments on RSG.

Damaged in shipping? Both of mine had powder coat damage from shipping RSG needs to package these better because UPS killed both boxes in shipping. My one slider was hanging out of the box.

RSG Sliders

Mine were not damaged in shipping. My boxes were in great shape. I would have to agree that better packing would be in order to keep the sliders from moving around in the boxes, or coming out the way yours did. The protective wrap was on the sliders and not damaged. I emailed RGS a week ago about it with pictures, and I haven't heard from them.

Shrockworks uses spray in foam covered by plastic in their packaging of their sliders. No way for them to get damaged in shipping.

I'm finally getting used to the way my Shrockworks sliders stick out from my 4Runner. Find I put my left foot on them getting in and out of the vehicle. No more getting my pants leg dirty.

Looking for help - 2012 Limited rock sliders

Great info everyone! - First time poster and first time 4runner owner.

Looking for help: Just bought a 2012 Limited and having a tough time finding rock sliders for the Limited without needing modifications (either to the rocker panel or XREAS suspension besides maybe a few spacers).

Does anyone know if a company makes such an option? Called most of the popular companies listed in this article and have been unsuccessful so far. Like the idea of a rock slider or close to one but want to maintain the same look.

Any help or leads would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Not trying to be an azz but... you should use the search function.

Cali Raised

Bumping this thread to ask:

Why are Cali Raised "Apex Fabworks" sliders missing from this extensive list?

I want sliders that fit as close to the body as possible and also provide a kick out option in the rear without a top plate.

After reviewing the 18 options listed in this thread, the only ones that met my expectations were outrageous and required $100+ in shipping, and they still didn't fit as close to the body as I wanted.

Cali Raised sliders are priced competitively, they offer all of the options I wanted, and, after chatting with them on IG, they mention theirs are the closest fitting on the market.

I am in no way affiliated with the company at all, but after taking with them I believe they have the best choice out there (for my needs), their customer service is excellent, and they are local to me in TX.

I would love to see if others have purchased these. The search function does not provide any examples of the 20 degree angled sliders with kick out option by Cali Raised.

Is there something I am missing as to why no one has these?

loved the look of angled but saw a couple of stories where people took heavy hits and then the back door was unable to open, or at the very least, contacted the sliders every time. im good.
