first off i just want to say sorry if this is posted already. i've been searching for a while with no success. I've added a constant 12v outlet to my 4th gen runner with an add-a-circuit and i would like to add a lighted rocker switch to it so i have a reminder of sorts that it is still on when i leave my vehicle. my only problem is i have no clue how to wire the thing. i have wired the switch successfully minus the light but im unsure how to wire the ground for the switch so the light will work. everytime i wire the ground to anything i blow the fuse. please help. http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/swps/rocker-with-labels.jpg. this is similar to the switch i am trying to install. it has 3 contacts on it. ground, acc, and load. thanks.

I suspect you are confusing the load pole with the (+) power source acc pole on the switch. Do you have any pics of what you are trying to do?
You say it's similar so here is how I would do it.
What is the amp rating on the switch you are installing? Should be 10A minimum and use a 10A fuse in the add-a-circuit.
Start by pulling any fuses so that your new circuit and switch are dead. Don't have anything plugged into the outlet.
Then wire the negative (-) ground pole to a good chassis ground, not another circuit.
Then wire the trigger/load pole to the outlet/socket. The socket should be grounded seperately, either with a wire or through the mounting bracket.
Then wire the +12VDC/acc pole to your positive power source wire from the add-a-circuit.
Now put the 10A fuse in and let us know what happens.

kmv i have not had a chance to try your suggestion yet but i wanted to post some more info. first off net4n6 to answer your question i was using the add a circuit in the 10A-Secu/Horn fuse. here is a diagram of the way i currently have it wired minus the working light on the switch.

Just as I thought. You have it backwards. You are sending open current direct to ground which blew the fuse.
Your diagram shows "acc/on" and "supply volts" which is different than your earlier wording "acc" and "load".
Connect the "supply volts" to the add-a-circuit. Connect the "acc/on" to the outlet/socket.
