constant pulley/belt squeak when headlights are on..

Hey all, just a few days ago I noticed a constant chirping noise coming from under the hood which sounds like a pulley or belt. The weird thing is it starts chirping when the headlights are on but soon as I turn them off it stops. Any help identifying what it could be would be much appreciated.

My guess is the alternator is under stress/load when you turn on the lights, it might be your alternator going bad and it is showing weakness.

The alternator is under extra load, but squealing isn't commonly a sign of a failing alternator. More than likely it is just that belt tension needs to be adjusted or that the belt needs to be replaced.

Replace belts and make sure they are tight.

Yes,it can be belt. Sometimes the bearing in the alternator can make a noise too.
If you have the OEM denso alternator, don't get rid of it. Just get the bearings. While you are there get OEM brush kit.

Thank you everyone for your replies! I'll check the alternator and the belt/tension and go from there. Have a 3 day weekend coming up and the weather seems like it will cooperate. Thanks again!
