For anybody still considering other manufacturer options for you next car, the article below should help push you towards the right direction. This may have already been posted... I didn't see it at quick glance so I decided to put it up here. When a single car-maker can produce 15 of the 31 most reliable cars it shoud really make you think (assuming you might want to keep the vehicle for a while).

How can the Ridgeline be one of the best in reliability when it just came out?? This is the reason I've never given CR any of my money to become a member. :bash:.

You have to remember that CR bases the reliability ratings on new vehicles less then 1 year old. If it was based on 5 or 10 years of use, probably 25 out 30 would be Toyotas, if not more.

Are you speaking to these particular reliability ratings? CR goes back many years. When I used to subscribe, they would ask about vehicles up to about 8 years old, if I remember rightly. On their recommended used list I think they may go further back.

If you also notice, they have not refreshed their data since '03, and they said only the V8 4Runner was on the most reliable list. CR is full of money paid to them from the manufacturers wishing to promote their vehicles (as well as other stinky stuff). Their un-biased opinions are a thing of the past...

From what I understood CR adds up each year/s and averages for long term ratings. I'm going to try and get some more info on this. There are several discrepancies in the way they determine there ratings on several items.
