Contaminated brake system

Went to les schwab for new rear brakes. they qouted 350 dollars. they call me after I drop it off and they say "contaminated brake system," that'll be 3500 dollars. i dont think so. we took it to midas and they said 4000.


i say: no.


Im flushing out the ENTIRE brake system with deatured alcohol tomorow. Wish me luck. New rear brakes are being installed too. alond with wheel bearings while we're in there

thats a pricey brake job

every single braking componet has to be replaced, it's all swullen. ABS unit, master cylinder, lines

contaminated by what? water? wouldn't a full bleed of the system resolve this? i think i am confused.
