Convert Pass seat to 8-way power directional?

Has any one ever done/tried this?

My Girlfriend is always complaining how uncomfortable the passenger seat is on road trips (and you know you don't want to have an unhappy "passenger" on long trips. : ). Hell, I don't even want to be the passenger in my own car.

Can the mechanics and controls from a 8-way power driver seat be put into the passenger housing, leaving the controls on the right side of the seat?

Anything is possible with enough money and minimal government interference (good stuff and bad stuff).

Unless your GF is demanding being able to move in all directions I would suggest spending less than 50% of what you'd spend and go to a good interior shop to get the foam re-done. Take your girlfriend with you so the tech can look her over (I know, that sounds weird but...) and talk to her about what she wants. Restuffing the seat with some high-tech foam and maybe heat would probably make her way more happy than the extra movement. I know on it's best day my drivers seat is marginally ok.

It's more of being able to move in all directions(seat bottom tilt), more than seat stuffing. Although that is a good idea for both of the front seats.

Well, I was implying anything But yes, IMHO it's unlikely the Toyota dealer would touch due to rules and liability issues. With enough money you could order a JDM seat for her. They have right-hand drive.

I'd rather not spend the money on a whole new seat. I was thinking of trying to find a driver seat at a salvage yard in good shape and just use the guts in mine. I guess I will need to take a look at how these are assembled.

That's a great idea. Didn't even cross my mind. If I had a power seat in the driver's seat, that would totally be a cool mod for the passenger's seat!
