Converting to 4x4?

thanks guys!

question I did a search for rear locking differential..locker and locking differential.. the only thread that comes up is this one..

im wondering the pros, cons, for someone like me who is a daily driver for now..

also can you guys give me some insight on a snorkel??

There is a sticky thread in the off-road section on this forum that will tell you about lockers, but its basically a device that physically locks the differential components together so that it can't work, resulting in both wheels turning at exactly the same rate 100% of the time. A selectable locker would be great for your 2wd vehicle. The pro's are it makes you vehicle almost as capable as a 4wd, and there are no cons. ARB Air Lockers are one of the best selectable lockers on the market. About $1000 fitted.
For a snorkel, you can fit a Safari Snorkel designed for the 95-04 Tacoma. You just need the complete snorkel kit and one air intake pipe piece from a Taco. About $350.

My driver carpet is sort of grimy already, it looked way better 8k miles ago before I started using it..

Do you guys suggest a heavy duty carpet?? I would love something I can spill something in, or drag in water/mud and not worry about the real carpet then I can just hose it off...

What about a cargo liner of the same type of specs???

The Husky Liners are great. I have a set and I love em.
Gives it a nice clean sanitary look.
