Coolant Changed Thursday, Low on Saturday

For the first three weeks of having my Runner the coolant level was middle of the road between L and H. I had the coolant flushed and changed on Thursday, and it was at the middle level in the shop when I picked it up.

After 200kms, when I looked at it last night it was right at L. Overnight it cooled down from being a hot reading, and this morning the reservoir was basically empty. No lights came on or anything, but I went and got some coolant and filled it to 3/4 between L and H.

Is it normal for the radiator to get a bit thirsty after a full change, or am I looking at a potential leak somewhere? Like always I'm going to monitor it closely nonetheless.

I had the same thing happen last change . I had to top it up a few times and put it off to air locks/bubbles in the system that dissipated after the flush. I do everything overkill but I always check it daily for a while after a complete flush . I would put a new Toyota rad cap on it too.

Now I'm panicking again because I put Peak Long Life 50/50 in to top it off. It's yellowish and changes to pink with the fluid in there. When I Google everything says NEVER mix, but my 4Runner Owner's Manual just said use any type of ethylene glycol mixed 50/50 with water, and the Peak bottle said it's compatible with anything. I hope it's not ****ed up, especially since the manual seemed so casual about doing things.

Did you mix that Peak with Dexcool ?

The bottle doesn't say anything. It is a 50/50 with water, and apparently phosphate and silicate free. It says it's compatible with anything.

It's not green, and it's not Dexcool, and it's ethylene glycol and not just alcohol.
