I am wanted to flush the coolant on my '88 Runner with the 3.0

Couldn't find the darned coolant drain plugs on the engine block for the life of me. The pictures in the Haynes Manual and the Owner's manual don't really seem to match up and aren't much help either.

Anyone got any tips for finding these drain plugs so I can drain ALL the old coolant out???

Im not exactly sure where the drain is on a 3.0, but it is in the same spot on my 22RE as it is on my 1967 chevelle, so I am assuming that it would be somewhere around the same place. Try the passenger side of the bottom of the radiator. There should be a petcock with a hose at the bottom. Spin the petcock open and fluid should piss everywhere. Let it all piss out and get in the car and start the engine for a about 30 seconds. More fluid should piss everywhere. This is around the time when i shove the hose in the radiator and let it suck in some fresh water. Again, start the engine and let it run. Hop out and do the hose trick again, and you should see some nasty coolant piss out. Wait until everything has come out, and shut it off. then fill the radiator with 50/50, turn the car on, let it get warm, and check the level. It should have gone down, so put some more in. Good luck, Sam.
