Coolant leak near oil filter grey sensor

I just swapped in a new thermostat and gasket hoping that would stop a coolant leak, though when I fired the 5fz back up and began adding coolant , I noticed the leak was coming from near the oil filter. Does not appear to be the oil cooler lines. It kinda looks like it is coming From a small gray sensor in the block.... or worse from between the block and head??? the I’m unsure the name of it or what it does. Any other ideas ?

Pics of the coolant leak. It is driver side near oil filter, by the grey sensor, and kinda at the base of the dipstick tube. Not sure if that is a weep hole location or not. Any help would be appreciated.

My guess would be to look at the water pump’s weep hole and see if coolant is coming out from there. Or the gasket could be gone.

Had a shop do the timing belt water pump/timing belt probably 2.5 years ago ish, or 25k miles. Really hope it is not a water pump going bad that early.

It's probably the water pump gasket leaking. Some sloppy techs don't take the time to smooth over the mating surface which often corrodes and pits so the gasket doesn't seal well. Changing the water pump without having to remove the timing belt is possible with this tool: https://www.amazon.com/Schley-SCH97...targid=pla-567505960980&psc=1#customerReviews.

If you take off the timing belt cover (top), 6 10mm bolts, you can then take a flashlight and peek at the water pump. You'll see the shiny reflection of coolant if that's your leak.
