Hi i have a 1997 limited with a 5vz-fe and on the driver side of the vehicle behind the wheel well there is a orange connection with wires coming from them and its leaking coolant. Ive tried looking up what this may be with no luck. Does anyone know what this is called? Ty in advance guys!

Not sure what that orange thing is, that's right above the oil cooler. The oil cooler is round and silver, 2 hoses that circulate coolant through are connected to it. It seems like you have an oil leak, I can see it above the oil cooler.
If it was a coolant leak, it would be dry and either crusty green or red. Check your valve covers.

I can't think of a coolant line that routes that direction.
I had a leak from my heater core lines coming from the top of the block into the valve.

Block Heater??
Very hard to tell much from that photo, and I have a 3rz so I don't even know the layout of your engine, but here's my guess.
Being from the north I know a thing or 2 about block heaters which go into the coolant passages of the engine through a frost plug hole in the block. Kinda looks like that to me. They have a shorter shelf life than most of our 4runners, mines on it's second one. The rubbers deteriorate and leak. Do the wires that come out of it end in a plug near the grill somewhere?
Could be way off base but that's my guess. You southern guys probably have no use for these things...

Yes, looking again at the photo, it does look like a block heater in a frost plug. And the white thing looks like a zip tie holding some sort of protective sleave over the wires.
Let us know what you find out. and if it is a block heater, be very careful removing the old one. They sometimes have a semi-captive nut and wing that like to fall off and tumble down inside the block requiring a magnet to retrieve. Don't ask how I found that out...

I don't know about a factory option, but I'm pretty sure they get put on at the dealership in colder climates. I don't spend much time looking at new cars...
As for plugging it off, I was not able to find any inexpensive, readily available way to do this. Cheapest and easiest for me was just to buy a new block heater.
BTW, I found the best quality block heater at the toyota dealership. Far better looking product than the auto parts store stuff.

it was a pain in the ass trying to hammer it in with no room at all lol
