Cooling System Flush - Any Watch-Outs?

Picked up my T4R used recently and am going thru the requisite outlay(s) of cash to make up for the previousl owners' lacking, any look-outs / beware-of's in getting the cooling system flushed out? Thanks!

if its anywhere near due for a new water pump or timing belt may as well wait until then. then you'd have new everything, including t-stat. does the coolant look dirty or discolored or are you just wanting to change it to know its good?

JUST completed oil, filter, cabin air filter, water pump & seal (obviously), timing belt, plugs, plug wires, valve cover gaskets, and front brakes. Radiator was replaced about a year ago an I don't think the fluid has been changed since - looking a little 'murkier' than I'd like, but I'm a bit of a nitpicker, hahaha.

which coolant did you/they use? if its the red or pink stuff it will last a long time, much longer than a year. if its green, its probly fine too but since its cheaper just drain the radiator, flush with water, drain your coolant reservoir (junk likes to collect in the bottom) and refill.

I just did mine with a radiator change plus hoses at the same time, no big deal just burp the lower line when flushing and filling each time and have both the heater temp controls(if you have rear heat) on high.

I was going to change the thermastat and gasket also but the rust was too much and I was concerned I would break a stud off so I left it alone.
