Cooper Discoverer ATRs

New guy here, have a 2003 with 60k and needs some new shoes. Been looking at these tires in P265/65 R17 (same size as what I have on there now). Live in the extreme north up here so winter conditions are important, I also live in the country and drive on gravel, trails a fair amount, but don't do a LOT of heavy OFF-ROADING.

Anyone like or dislike these tires? Seem to be somewhat reasonably priced, I can get a set put on for under $650, also looked at the REVOs for about $800.

I can't speak to that specific tire but did you consider a 265/70/17? It fit no trouble, look cooler and give you a bit more clearance. The only drawback is you should carry a 265/70 spare also. Good luck

I agree with CJ3Flyr. I was looking for new tires too, but was dissapointed in the selection in the 265/65/17 size, so I shopped around for a 265/70/17 and there are about 3 times more choices with that size. And assuming your '03 is AWD, you would definitely need a same-size spare. I settled on 4 new 265/70/17 Pirelli Scorpion ATRs and a used Sportking (similar tread pattern) for a spare. All fit perfectly and runs smoothly. Even if your '03 is 2/4-wheel drive interchangeable, you need the same size spare.

I have the Cooper ATR

I have put about 13,000 miles on them so far. I posted about them when I first got them. You might do a 'search'. They are good and seem to be wearing well. They have a very deep tread to start with - substanitally deeper appearing than the stock Bridgstones. I stand by my opinion right after I got them. They are just a little bit louder from maybe 30mph to 55 mph. Above 55 the windnoise that was always there takes over. Overall I am glad I got them but part of what made my decision easy was the deal I got on them.
