Cooper Discoverer STT???

I'm not really ready for tires, but I've found a guy locally selling a set of four 265/70/17 STT's that are in "like new" condition. He's asking $450 for them, which seems to be a pretty good deal. Are these tires any good? My 4runner is a daily driver, and I've been set on getting the Revos as they fit my driving style much better. However, after looking at these tires, I think they'd look amazing on my 4runner (which is stock for now, but probably getting a leveling kit in the near future). If the road manners are bad on these, I'll pass up the deal, plain and simple. However, if these have pretty good road manners, I'll give it some serious thought. This will have to be a seriously good deal in order for me to do this at the moment (got a year left in my current Bridgestone H/T tires). Thanks for any input!

If they really are "new" then it's a steal. They retail for close to $1,000 if not more.

It's an MT, so it's definitely not going to handle as well as the Revos.

Yeah, I would save going this route till your lifted and NEED them.

I would buy thos in a haert beat i paid 1500 for my 33s. they do not cleen out in mud as easly at low rpm as i hoped but other than that i like them they are not noisey on the highway. the one thing i dont like about them is that they have no traction on ice or hard packed snow.

depends on what your needs are. Yes, the STT's are a good tire, and look very aggressive, but they are meant for "offroad" use. The revo's are meant for on-road use and will have a longer tire life and better road characteristics. I had a set of dueler revo's and now i have a set of BFG all-terrains. If i where to do it over, i would have gone back to the revo's in a heartbeat. You should base your decision on how much time you spend on/off-road.
