Cops??????? Really????

I am sure you get your truck WAYYYYYY nastier than a bit of urine.....

I see no way for you to gain anything here. 2 choices, do something or do nothing. Doing something will only cause you to become a target, with little or no gain. Doing nothing has the chance that this is a one-time thing.

Keep in mind that if this is not the first time you have had issues with mr. cop then all bets are off. I am in no way saying you shouldn't defend what is yours, and it would piss me off as well. BUT... put this in some perspective...it's just urine. Birds shit on your truck all the time...is it worth getting yourself put on the radar? Is your truck 100% street legal? What are the laws concerning lifts, bumper height, mud flaps, tire sizes, ect. like in your state? Here in Illinois most of the 4wd's here downstate are officially "illegal" in some form or another, but the cops rarely do anything...UNLESS you tick them off.

Again, this is just my opinion, but I would blow it off and never think twice about it. UNTIL it happened again.:50cal:
 
it is crazy and unfair to label all "cops" as either *******s, pricks, jerks etc. what these guys did was undeniably stupid, and you should call their department and make a formal complaint. and no, it is certainly not a NC thing either.

You know who the guy is apparently. He knows he did wrong. If you don't want to get even with him via the law-the civilized way-then you will be stooping to his level.

Sometimes that is the best satisfaction out there.

It's the same way here. I beat a ticket in county court for left turns at an intersection that was mis-marked. The city cops made sure to get even with me after that-and pretended they could not even find record of me beating the ticket. And by the way they did fix the signage and lane stripes so they could continue to write tickets at that very same intersection.

Now when they see me coming they make sure to whip a U-eeey and follow me just looking for an infraction.

Pick your poison, just be careful either way you go. It's a small world when you have to go by them every day of your life....

I'm 48 and not advising you to do anything stupid sir. But right is right-you know it and they know it.

Alright, i may give bad advice cause i hate COPS (most of them anyway for several reasons) 1. have a tape recorder (a digital one is good) also if your gonna get into confrontation but cant whip out that recorder fast enough, 2 call someone and put phone on speaker before they come up to ur window. Yeah reporting him more than likely wont work i know this because it was the similar when i was in the marines (civilian make complain against marine for the same reason, that marine would just get extra duties for a week) Now if that were me and i saw that crap, i would lay him out cold and if his buddy wanted some too he would got worst. think about it file useless complain or take action.

well good points, but bird sit is different than a human with a brain + he's the law. Now do you think that FLEXincrunner could get away with it once? and that a big hell no all kinna stuff would have happened to him and he would still get prob 10 tickets. Bottom line is one time is more than enough esp when its personal property. Our first general order in the marines is: To take charge of this post and all government property in view. i know the cops have something similar. if a bird shit on my runner thought i would wanna kill that sucka esp. if i just got done washing it. lol

lol the last part i agree with the most. Deff. not an NC thing. I am orrig. from Long Island NY and i can unequivocally say that cops in NC do a better job that those in NY. I wouldn't say all cops are P.O.S, but all cops know their role in society and play it well.

i'm sure there are quite a few of us in law enforcement that might and do take offense to alot of the negatives that this thread has tossed up. being a "cop" is not an easy career path to take, and it's usually not the most lucrative one (especially in NC). BUT, douchebaggery is douchebaggery and what those guys did is wrong. just wrong.
 
Cops do have one of the toughest jobs around and I'm sure that if any of us who aren't cops tried to do it, we would quickly realize how stressful and thankless it can be. There's obviously some perks to the job and then there's all the crap you have to put up with all day every day. I think there's those few jerks that feel they are above the law, but I think that's a small percentage compared to most cops who just do their job like anyone else and just hope to go home in 1 piece every night. Authority can corrupt people, but I agree this thread shouldn't be stereotyping all cops because of one dumb one. One of my best friends since I was 6 years old is a detective and he is as cool and honest as they come.

i had an altercation with the mount juliet police department on my birthday of all days. wrote a formal complaint to the chief of police, who defended him. the officer gave me wrong information, was rude, abrupt, and was very quick to inform me he was the only officer so and so on that force so if i had to find him it would be easy. i found his manner to be unprofessional and a bad representation of that department.

IMHO, i believe officers and the military are held to a higher standard. I can't tell my soldiers not to do stupid stuff then go off and do it myself. We have to hold ourselves to a higher degree of standards than everyone else.

Will there be asshattery and dumb stuff that happens? yea. You wouldn't believe how much stuff will get shoved under the rug because people are buddies. I've seen it happen. Do I stand by idly and let it happen? I try not to, but you also have to pick the battles. It's not always the best thing to rock the boat and cause a whole lot of waves. You can't win every battle, and you cant burn all your bridges.

In my dealings with that PD department, i was disappointed in the lack of professionalism and common courtesy. Does it reflect badly on that department? in my opinion yes. I have some very good friends who are deputy sheriffs and officers for their prospective cities, and they do an upstanding job, on and off work, of keeping to that higher standard. I have one neighbor at home who's a deputy sheriff, and the neighbor on the other side is a state trooper. I've cracked an adult beverage or two with both of them a time or two. They have my respect for the jobs they do.
