Hello,
I have a new 08' urban runner with the trd package and xreas suspension. I have been checking out all the photos here and have decided I want to add some type of lift to my urban runner. I see alot of people have the cornfed or the daystar. I am looking at both either the 2/1 cornfed or the 2.5 daystar. Can someone tell me the major differences. Does lifting void the factory warranty? I am doing it primarily for looks. I am also considering the toytec 1" spacers for just the front end to level out the truck, If I did this I wouldn't do any other lifting. When I priced everything out there wasn't a significant difference so why not get the extra inch inch all the way around. Please let me know your input

I did toytec topplate spacers in the front 1/2 spacer that goes on top of the strut and it lifted it an inch and didn't make the ride rough. Clears 32 Bfg mud terrains no problem and the spacer was like 60 bucks

If I was not going off road I would just level it out. The higher you go the more gas you will use. As far as the different companies, a spacer lift is not rocket science, they all do the same thing just different materials.

that is a great article by ja about daystar compared to cornfed, but just be careful because supposedly the daystar is top out only now

Thanks for the input so far. I still have not decided. My wife thinks I am crazy fo spending so much time on the internet researching lift and tires for th 4 runner. Does anybody have before and after photos of the 1" leveling spacer installed on there 4runner? As for the post about the trd package, my 4runner has a decal on the hood scoop that says trd. I thought that it must have it. To be honest I guess I am not really sure what trd stands for. I thought it was some kind of offroad upgades by toyota.

Hmmm....First of all, wifes are wifes. I love my wife and all, but my selective hearing has improved dramatically in the last 5 years. :D jk....

TRD stands for Toyota Racing Development, and I say let's look in your so called "TRD package" to see if it is only a decal or something else. I suspect that the stealership put a decal and a shift knob or something to overcharge for a aftermarket accessory... Best case scenario would be if they actually put an SC and turned your Hood scoop functional...lol

O.K.
I have decided on the cornfed 2/1. I ordered from burtman industries last night along with the K&N air filter kit. I chose it mostly based on the information I found here at 4runner.org. I wanted to run slightly larger tires and really just wanted that beefier look. The truck is actually a daily driver for my wife. I have a f350 because I am a building GC and pretty much abuse my truck for work. We probably will take the 4runner to the hunting camp and haul the dogs in it. I can at least show it a little offroading there. On the burtman site it said the lift wouldn't ship for about two weeks. How long did it take for it to show up on the doorstep???

Thanks Tom
