Cornfed finally ordered

I've been following this thread with great interest! PLEASE post up photos when you decide on a tire size.

Right now I'm in the same boat, I want to get the SAME lift you have, but can't decide between tire sizes, go maximum 275/70R17 or go with a known workable 265/70R17.

My biggest issue with the 275/70/17 is possible rubbing and possibly not being able to fit one in the spare tire location...these are for the Wife's DD T4R and I definitely don't want rubbing issues and I don't want to have to start cutting wheel wells...it's also an automatic 'no go' if I can't fit a 275/70/17 spare...This is her baby so I have very strict marching orders, LOL.

To be perfectly honest, I think your rig looks great with the OEM tires on it...so right now I'm heavily leaning towards just getting 265/70/17 tires...

Thats why I went with the 265/70's , I put the same size spare in , no rubbing , and the tire selection is much better for 265's than it is for 275's .

I am still undecided on the tire size as well. When the time comes I will do some research and try and figure out what the realistic measurements of tire sizes, needs and wants are. I am leaning toward the BFG AT 265/70R17s at the moment.
I will post pics when I make the move for new tires.

First of all, I think that lift looks excellent! I think it looks a little better even than the 3/2 lifts, but that's just me. I'm trying to decide between a cornfed 2/1, or just the 1 inch front leveling, like Deputy did.

Stupid question time: Doesn't altering the tire size make your speedometer inaccuate? All this tire talk, and I don't see any mention of this here.

Yes you are correct it does create inaccuracies with the speedometer, but I am not worried about it, and I assume others do not worry as well. It just requires some simple math in your head as you drive down the road to make sure you are not going too fast. There are tire calculators on this thread that can help with tire sizes.

265/70s with hitch

Nice lift! I'm thinking of ordering the exact same setup. I have the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor in 265/70 R17s and there is literally 1/16 of an inch clearance between the hitch and the spare. Nothing larger will fit there.

I guess that answers my question, Looks like I will not have a spare. lol

I should have some new tires no later than june. Just got to figure out which size. Although it is a nice feeling of comfort to have a spare just in case.

Are we talking about some different sizes than posted ????

Agreed , one of those 2 are on my wish list. My problem is also wanting a TRD rim the is wider or has a different offset so I can retain handling & stability with a wider stance. TRD makes noting in 17" as far as I can find.

Falls, you are right, I was asleep or something when I typed that.

I know the Goodyear SA and MTR have a 275/70R17...

The BFGs do not come in 275/75 R17... Sorry about that!

265/70R17 is what I am looking at for the BFGs.
