Cornfed Question....2/2 or 3/2 and tires

Howdy,

Spacer lift people, I am currently planning on buying a spacer lift in the next couple days but I am EXTREMELY torn between getting a cornfed 2/2 pieced together or getting the 3/2 and there's not too much on here about a 2/2. Here's my dilemma I really like the look of the 3/2 from what I have seen in pictures but I am really afraid of losing the rake (I like the stock rake, I know I'm weird) and getting a butt heavy look, which is why I am considering the 2/2 but don't know if that is enough lift overall. What are your real world thoughts after having it on your truck? I am definitely keeping my x-reas.

Next question, if I am right a 285/70/17 is the biggest tire that will fit with the 3/2 and 275/70/17 is the largest with a 2/2. Correct?

Getting the same amount of lift front and rear should raise the vehicle and retain the rake. I think most "leveling" kits are a 1" front spacer. From what you say you want, you'd probably be happier with the 2/2.

3/2 over 2/2, go outside, park on level ground, & jackup the front only 1 in. that will give u some idea of how much rake you'll have left with a 3/2, u could block up the front a full 3 & the back 2 & see what it looks like
 
Thanks from the input guys, after some more research on the 3/2 I think I will be plenty happy with it and I can also fit 285s with some trimming. Now my next question, I have it narrowed down to three tires: Duratracs, Discoverer STT, and BFG A/Ts. I would prefer one of the first two due to the aggressive tread but I am considering the BFGs due to snow we get here in the winter. I drive a lot for work and while we don't see a lot of deep snow, we see a decent amount of light coatings and slushy stuff.

Does anyone have any experience with these tires in wintery conditions? I'm also open to other recommendations if someone has a better recommendation.
 
I just lifted my V8 4x4 3/2 Readylift STI kit.
I will get some pictures up for you so you can take a look. I also put some 305/70/16 tires on. I will put up before and afters later today.
Hopefully it will help you decide what you want.

Absolute those are some freaking huge tires! Looks good!

Alright guys, plot thickens! I have been offered a daystar 2.5 inch spacer lift (2 spacer type) for only 90 bucks. I'm wondering, for that price, if I shouldn't just go ahead and get that.

I hardly doubt you will notice the difference between a 3/2 and the Daystar. For 90 dollars you would be a fool not to buy it! You did shoot yourself in the foot by telling people how cheap it is because if you didn't like it you can't sell it for more now :P You could add some FJ coils and elevate it a bit more if you need more lift.
