Corral Canyon trip

Some buddies and I explored Corral Canyon OHV for a while on Saturday, didn't get too far though since it was the afternoon by the time we got up there. But we still found the time to get stuck in various spots!

lets just say I'm glad I did my rear diff breather mod!

I've never understood why you have to do the rear diff breather mod to go in water like that. Please explain.

Looks like fun. It's pretty cool how water doesn't go into exhaust.

diff breather is situated above the third, when its submerged in water it usually contains silts, clays and other tiny debris that find its way in the breather and clogs it which often results in leaky seals

Did you use the front hooks to pull that Jeep out? If it was, I suggest you attach the tow strap/hook to your hitch (if you have one, I can't really tell) or to a part of the frame. The hooks up front were used during shipping of the 4Runner and were used to attach straps to the ship floor, while the car was in park, so the minimal shifting it experienced would be restrained via those front hooks and tie downs

ok so those are not designed to be used for towing then? good advice. I haven't actually looked to see where they are attached to.

They weren't designed for it, but you can use them. Such as if you need to pull out a car... obviously they aren't going to have a tow hitch with a shackle receiver on the back of them. So on your truck, it's good habit to just use the back, but for the other vehicle, you can attach it to those hooks with a shackle.

i could never get the balls to take my truck in water that deep...i just couldnt bring myself to do it

that was just a large puddle about 20 feet long, wasn't fording a river or anything crazy
