Cost to paint hood?

I love my '03 V8 and just put new Kenwood DDX 371, backup camera an a bunch of other stuff (waiting on Gaterose to finish my Satoshi). The previous owner must have driven through tons of our wonderful "love bugs" we have here on the Southeastern coast whose acidic innards literally dissolve paint if you do not have protective wax and the hood is in terrible shape. The rest of the paint is pretty good. It is flat black and unfortunately has the dreaded plastic body armor Toyota put on for a short time in 2003. I have Plastidipped that. I am thinking of just getting the hood painted if the cost is reasonable. This was going to be my son's (he is away at college) and my tow car but my '13 Outback got run over by a truck at a stop sign and there is nothing in my price range that I like enough to spend the money on right now. At least nothing I like more than the 4RUNNER. So I will drive it as my daily driver until the '16 models come out. I am going to keep the 4RUNNER 4ever. Anyone have an idea what it would cost to paint the hood only? Thanks . I am located in Brunswick, Georgia, near Jacksonville, Florida.

You are probably looking at around $250 for a quality job to paint the hood only. If you want them to blend then you are at $750. I don't know if you would need it blended if it is black.

I recently had a bumper painted by a guy in Jax that did excellent work. It is a run down looking shop in a bad part of town and they guy looked scary as hell. I nearly ran a way when he opened the door. He is a big burly biker looking guy, but turned out to be super nice and does amazing work.

Thanks, that sound reasonable. It seems a lot of the auto parts/repair shops in Jax are just as you describe. I will probably get it done up here in Georgia, a little less of an adventure.
