If it does can they be fixed by replacing said solenoid?
Could a bad shift soleniod cause Transmission problems?

alright, im getting a p0773 code from the engine. so thats why i was wondering if its a top priority thing

Hey my 96 tacoma had a solenoid 1 or 2 shift code and I had it checked they cleared the code for me and told me to see if it did it again if so bring it in and they would check into it. That was a year plus ago and it has never thrown code again, could have been a piece of dirt caught then passed thru. I wasnt having any shift problems though just threw the code.

Hey guys I'm bringing this back up again because I'm still wondering. My runner shifts hard when it's going from 1st to 2nd. But if I use the shifter it's smooth like it came from the factory, anyone know who I should take it to?

Most times I've seen this code it was remedied by replacing the SL solenoid. PM me your email address and I will gladly send you a pdf from Toyota with everything you could probably care to know about this.
