Could wet weather cause this?

A few days ago it started raining here and it stopped this morning. Anyways, a few days ago I noticed a loss of power and throttle response in my 4Runner, it felt like I was pulling a load. It really didnt want to accelerate at all, it would be off and on though because there were a few times when it would stop.

So it stopped raining this morning and so did the laggy throttle response and loss of power.

My Question: Could wet weather possibly cause this because of a faulty sensor of some sort? or am I just pulling conclusions out of thin air?

Im doing a full tune-up this weekend so I might fix whatever it is but if anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it. What should I take a look at this weekend while tuning the truck up to fix this?

Current tune up plan:

Motor Oil/Oil Filter/Engine flush (AMSOIL)
Trans Fluid (AMSOIL)
T-Case fluid (AMSOIL)
front/rear diff fluid (AMSOIL)
propeller shaft lube
coolant flush/Water Wetter additive

Spark Plugs
New wire set
Distributer cap and rotor
PCV Valve
O2 Sensor

Clean K&N air filter
Clean Mass Air Flow? (have to research this today)
Clean throttle body (also have to research today)

It could easily be some sensor that's getting wet and causing the problem.

I'd have the codes read to see if it's logging any faults.

well I think it might have been caused by some oil I put in to top it up a week ago, must have been a reaction to the oil that was currently in there, not sure what was in there because I recently bought this truck.

I changed all fluids to AMSOIL synthetic and it runs great now.

It could also be your fuel injection. Running some FI cleaner through it might fix the problem. Mine did sort of a pulsing/jerking thing when I would accelerate when the engine was cold. I cleaned the FI and it runs much better now. Good luck. Let us know if you figure out what the problem is.

There may have been some bad gas working its way through your fuel system.
