After months of trolling and seeing all these amazing rigs you guys have I decided to take the plunge and start the mods. The wife made me a deal and said "if I can save the money I can get what I want". So after a few months of saving and selling a bunch of stuff I had around the house I decided it was time to start the mods. I've already switched to a stubby antenna and I've switched out the dash speakers to the kappas, I've debadged the SR5 emblems and added the AVS bug shield. I just ordered the black moto metal 957s in 17x9 with a -12mm offset and a set of 285/70/17 nitto terra grapplers. I also just ordered a toytec 3/2 lift and level kit as well. Also in the mail is the upper grillecraft grill and the equipment I need for a roof rack delete and the old school toyota emblem. I figured I'd start this off with some before pics and hopefully by next weekend all the mods will be here and complete, and I can get some after pictures by next weekend (fingers crossed).

i think its kind of cool what guys on this site do with their rides. call me old fashioned, but i like it the way it is. may get some different tires, though. but i am afraid if i start with that, it won't end...

I've always been an engine modder and never really jazzed up any of my vehicles before but I see more potential in this vehicle than any other car I've owned. I just hope it turns out looking as good as I imagine it.

No. I figured it'd be an all or nothing thing. I don't like to do things slowly. I can't wait for the runner to be done, now I'm waiting for my wheels to ship, everything else is on it's way already. For some reason the company I ordered from told me before I ordered they'd ship ASAP. After I made the order they tell me it's a 3 to 5 business days for processing before shipping...oh well, lesson learned. Hopefully I won't have to buy wheels again for a very long time.

The new front end and profile. Added the grillecraft upper grill with Toyota badge. Removed roof side rails and debadged the SR5 emblems. Hoping to have wheels and tires on early next week.

Haha. Yeah. It was more quality over quantity. Im a big fan of guns but im not really a collector. I had a couple pistols laying around that i sold and I sold my factory wheels and tires. I hate my running boards but the wife and my 5 yr old use them. Id like to get the n fabs if they ever make them for the SR5. Im just really looking to get away from stock without going overboard. Thank you for the kind words. Im looking forward to getting it finished up.

Got the lift on and the new wheels and tires. Im thrilled with the outcome. It took me all day but I got it on. Ill get some better pictures tomorrow.

Looks great man!! I remeber your other post where you said you used the Toytec spacer lift. Its the one with the front spacers and the rear coils right? Did you swap out shocks as well or are you still running the stock stuff? How's the ride so far, any difference? I have that set-up sitting on my floor waiting for the time to leave my truck at the shop and just curious since you just did yours. Great rig.

No I got the front and rear spacer kit. The ride seems fine right now. I ddnr get an alignment yet but it tides pretty smooth right now. I can feel its a lot more solid of a ride. I have an sr5 and coming from a truck I could feel the spongy ride it had before. The spacers tightened that up and it feels alot more like a truck now.

Great! Mine is SR5 as well and looking to have stiffer ride. Researching swapping out the 4Runner shocks with FJ becasue I hear they are a little better and they have some inexpensive barely used ones on the FJ site but very happy to know thats its not necessarily needed.
