cowl hood

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site and hope this is permissable but,-
I've been asked to build molds for a cowl hood for an 03 4runner, I have no problem doing this but, the pattern work is very expensive so, my question to you all is; " Do you think this would be a product that would sell well or would it be something that would just sit around and collect dust due to lack of sales.
I've been doing Tacomas for years, 4runners are a new area for me.

id have to see what the finished project looked like first before i give an answer, but there was a time when i was looking for a carbon fiber hood with scoop for my 06, but they dont make em for 4th gen.

I would be interested following some pictures and pricing info. I know there are several members (self included) who envy the SE crowd with their scooped hoods.

Do you have any of pictures or pricing for the Tacoma stuff you've done in the past?

I suppose these may be relevant -

Don't know which one you're referring to but I found both linked to "Dan's Hoods" from CustomTacos.com

In terms of a "cowl" hood with the opening facing the windshield, I wouldn't be so interested in that. When I think cowl hood...I think of this: http://www.gmcpauls.com/pictures/cowlhoods/81-87cowlhoodpickup.jpg If on the other hand you were talking about a "ram air" type hood like what is on the SE Runners...that's something I'd be more interested in. Especially if it's functional ;):

I'd be mostly concerned with quality also, and fit. I've seen some glass hoods that don't fit worth a damn and take alot of body work to the fenders and hood itself to get to fit with the correct gaps.

Are we talking about a single sided hood or would it have an interior finished face?

I'm interested in the "sport type hood" not the "rear facing" type. Price and fit must be right too (as mentioned above).

The one in the pic you posted is one of mine.

My potential customer called me yesturday and asked if I have been able to create any interest in a cowl hood for the 4th gen. 4runners, I told him I would check one more time with you guys.
He is willing to start a group buy, is there anyone else wanting to get in on this project? (it would take 4 more to make it happen).
There would be a discount on the hoods in the group.

people might show some more interest if they saw it on a 4th gen. first, (not just a taco or older gen 4r) not sure if anyone would purchase before even seeing what it looks like.

It would also help if you gave a price and specified whether your customer is interested in the standard cowl hood or the scoop like on the stock SE 4runner. or if it is functional.

You stated that the stock looking one was one of yours in one post and you also said the cowl hoods in the other pics but never said which design you plan to use for the hoods you're offering here.
